Valtunes Summer 2015

Ex’s and Oh’s
Ex’s and Oh’s by Elle King will be the song that reminds me of the summer of 2015. Even though it was released as a single in 2014, it seems to getting more radio play this year. This upbeat tempo song is about her old lovers and how they all want to come back for more of her love.

Here is a YouTube link to the song
Some of the content is on the suggestive side, if you have youngins around. The rest of it is mostly hilarious.

Side Note: Elle King is the daughter of Rob Schneider who I remember way back from Saturday Night Live in the early 90’s as the Richmeister. His shtick was to turn people’s names into songs when they came in his office to make a copy.

I heard the song, S.O.B., by Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats live on The Tonight Show earlier this month. It is a song that draws you in and then grabs you fast. If you haven’t heard it yet, listen to this version on YouTube.

Nathaniel Rateliff has an interesting history which includes missionary work. In Denver, he is considered a local folk-pop hero. If you like The Lumineers and Mumford & Sons, this band will be right up your alley.
