Bowling – So I bowl in two senior leagues. On one league, my team finished in first place…the other league, last place. So what are the ODDS of that happening? BTW, being in last place is so much easier and more fun.

Book Clubs – In the past month I’ve been to two book clubs where the author was present. The first was with Shugri Said Salh who is the author of “The Last Nomad: Coming of Age in the Somali Desert.” Her story is one of resilience and survival. AND, I was the invited author for a book club in San Diego for my book, “Lost in The Ark” which is also a coming-of-age story about a dark religious community. Love this kind of book club meeting.

Cemeteries – On a recent trip to New Hampshire, I visited a place where life ENDS – a cemetery. Big surprise, huh? Although I couldn’t find any angels, I looked up and saw this very interesting creature on the roof of an adjacent house. The proper name for this is a grotesque: part human, part animal, and part mythical. I guess the home owners wanted to scare away any lost souls in the cemetery from visiting their property. It sure got my attention.
